Widespread lockdowns and closed borders hurt small businesses, employment, education and construction. However, federal and state government financial support mitigated the worst impacts, helping many workers and businesses stay afloat.
The property market boomed, with prices surging more than 20% nationally. Record-low interest rates fueled increased demand.
